Marin Immigration Law is a growing Canadian immigration law firm based in Ottawa, Ontario and focused exclusively on immigration and citizenship matters.

Our firm operates fully remotely and uses modern, cloud-based systems. We believe that excellent legal work does not require long hours for their own sake, and that lawyers do their best work when expectations are clear and support is real. As we continue to grow, we are looking for lawyers and non-lawyers who want to build a long term career in immigration law and grow alongside the firm.

All employees receive comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage effective from their first day of employment. Lawyers are eligible for performance-based incentives and are rewarded with a percentage of collected billings once annual revenue thresholds are met.

From early on, you’ll take consultations and manage files independently, with mentorship and support when you need it. You’ll build real skills and expected to provide legal submissions, not just review someone else’s drafts.

You’ll work closely with Cédric Marin, former Federal Court law clerk and former IRB decision-maker, alongside a support team. We invest time in training, feedback, and professional development. We believe that substantive feedback is important.

Work-Life Balance That’s Real

The goal is to meet targets during regular business hours, with evenings and weekends as the exception. Lawyers and non-lawyers who choose to exceed targets are rewarded through performance-based compensation.

Performance-Based, Fair Compensation

Lawyers are expected to bill and generate revenue, and are rewarded when they do. Our compensation model is transparent, uncapped, and designed to grow with you. You keep a portion of the billings after a target is reached.

Compensation, Benefits, and Support

We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The firm covers all professional costs required to do your job, including law society fees, professional insurance, and required continuing education for lawyers.

We provide the tools needed to work effectively from home, including a company laptop and other necessary equipment, and we cover reasonable work-related expenses such as home internet and phone costs. All team members receive comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with paid vacation and statutory holidays, starting on day one.
