Kendra Gaede is a professional genealogist currently specializing in Bill C-3 Canadian Citizenship by Descent cases. She is Chair of the Manitoba Genealogical Society's Research Committee and winner of the Association of Professional Genealogists' "New Professional Scholarship," 2025.
Kendra’s passion for Canadian history started early, visiting museums and historic sites across Western Canada. A former journalist, she has flown with the RCAF Snowbirds and interviewed Canadian icons like Peter Gzowski and David Suzuki. Kendra’s interest in family history eventually led her to a fulfilling career in Canadian genealogy. Her expert knowledge stretches across Canada, from archival centres in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, to historical resources in Ontario and Quebec, and special record collections on the Prairies and in British Columbia. Kendra enjoys helping others learn more about their family history, both as a professional genealogist with Marin Immigration Law, and as a dedicated volunteer with the Manitoba Genealogical Society.
