Agnès Chaudron is a citizenship and immigration lawyer at Marin Immigration Law, where she joined the team in 2026. Her practice focuses on Canadian citizenship, in particular proof of citizenship applications for people whose claim rests on Canadian descent. She prepares applications, legal submissions and requests for urgent processing, and advises clients on the evidence needed to prove each generation of their line.
Before joining the firm, Agnès clerked at the Federal Court of Canada from 2025 to 2026, including for Chief Justice Paul S. Crampton, drafting bench briefs, attending hearings and helping edit reasons for judgment. During law school she worked as a student caseworker in the immigration and refugee law division of Community Legal Services of Ottawa, supporting staff lawyers on refugee claims, humanitarian and compassionate applications, pre-removal risk assessments and judicial reviews, and interviewing clients in French, English and Spanish.
Agnès came to law after a first career in public policy and international affairs. She spent more than a decade at Global Affairs Canada, where she headed the department's coordination unit with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada from 2014 to 2017, advising senior officials and Canada's embassies on immigration issues, and then served four years at the Embassy of Canada in Mexico as Second Secretary (Political Affairs), reporting on human rights and the rule of law. Earlier, she worked on Canada-Mexico relations, including migration and labour mobility, and before that as a public affairs consultant at Fleishman-Hillard.
She earned her Juris Doctor in the French Common Law Program at the University of Ottawa, graduating magna cum laude. At the 2025 Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Law Moot, she argued in French through to the final round and received the Top Oralist award, while her team won Top Oralist Team, Top Factum and Top Law School. She also holds a university diploma in asylum law from Université Panthéon-Assas in Paris, a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University.
Agnès is authorized to represent clients before IRCC as a paid representative, since she is a lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (95210A).
